Our journey to relocate and restore a piece of Huntly’s history is making the next grand step!

We are working with the Waikato District Council to give the original Huntly Railway Station a new lease on life. Now that the building is relocated and restoration is nearing completion, Huntly Museum is getting ready to make the move.
Raahui Pookeka Huntly’s new cultural hub with Huntly Museum at its core is scheduled to arrive in 2025.
From dedicated exhibition areas to providing educational material, our new museum will be a true showcase of our town and community.

RESTORATION JOURNEY
…the original Huntly Railway Station opens to the public.
…the structure was replaced with the Huntly Railways Station building we know today.
…the Huntly Lions Club repainted the station building.
…the building was relocated to Lake Puketirini to enable the development of the new Huntly Railway Station.
…the Huntly Museum Committee begins advocating for the return of the historic station to its original site.
…the Waikato Alliance begins upgrading Raahui Pookeka | Huntly Railway Station
